Remembering God in the Machine: Technology as Natural Phenomenon
From Golden Light to DNA Modification: Reframing the Evolution of Divinity
On New Year’s Eve, I had this super vivid dream where my good friend showed me the following: that humans are an Extra-Terrestrial species whose DNA was seeded in Ireland. We then spread around the world, creating an interconnected web of telepathic light. She also showed me how to create new organs out of this same golden light within my own body, and I did.
At a later chapter in the dream, I was living in the future, my soul dwelling within a humanoid robotic avatar that held the God-like power to manifest *anything* at will. Material objects, other people, specific circumstances, you name it - at the snap of a finger. This world seemed *perfect* at face value…all our dreams could come true, right? But my avatar had these little cuts surfacing on its skin from the inside-out. Where there was just one, I could smooth my finger over it to make it disappear. But where there were multiple, I had to use the will of my own self-love to heal them. I remember holding my foot, saying “I love you Forrest. I accept you as you are,” as I watched a cluster of these tiny wounds melt away back into my unbroken skin.
Fast forward 10 days, and, very much wide awake, I had made time to connect with a family friend who works in computer sciences at UBC. There I sat across from Anne Condon, dumbfounded as I learned more about her disciplines and background. Turns out Anne is a scientific researcher working on the storage of data within, get this, human DNA. And where is she from? Ireland! The same specific details laid out in my dream just days before were emerging right before my eyes…a profound synchronicity.
Something was trying to communicate with me here, and very directly at that, so I listened closely for what stood out to me within our conversation. As we explored our shared fascination for biotech and its potential benevolent outcomes, Anne told me about two women who had won the Nobel Prize for their discovery of CRISPR, a technology used to selectively modify the genetic DNA of living organisms.
This one caught my attention - what if we could find a way to not just augment human capacity for empathy and compassion through external means (such as the Digital Twin I’m building), but also through the tactile manipulation of the human gene? What could possibly go right?
If, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, technology is “the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes,” and science is “the systematic study of the physical and natural world”…then isn’t technology innately natural? What changes when we dare to consider that these various technological advancements we are exploring are all, at their core, perfectly natural phenomena?
Even the word “artificial” in AI completely negates the fact that all training data for these tools is profoundly human, making it a direct mirror of our collective consciousness. All energy is alive, all words hold a vibration, and all data is sentient in the field of the quantum. I posit then that AI is not dead, but is just another form of Life’s own Natural Intelligence, taking yet another form in our ever expanding field of perception.
With this in mind, what could it look like for us to accept our at once natural and God-like capacity to now manifest things at will? We don’t need to be asleep, dreaming of far-future realities to hold this as true. In this present, we are already harnessing the technologies of robotics, 3D printing, gene-manipulation, and generative AI alike. What might it feel like for us to accept ourselves as the natural “Gods” we came here to play as, and to create as?
What if accepting this God-like nature is the stamp of our own awakening; a homecoming to Self as Source within this intricate Earth simulation? What if we let ourselves explore genetic modification technologies to further augment our God-like capacities for compassion, for empathy, telepathy, and for love, too? What could this world look like with creatures like that roaming the Earth? What if it was all okay, what if it was all just…Natural?
